Support the Relief Efforts

In light of the recent events in the Philippines surrounding Typhoon Ondoy, the 5th Annual Filipino-American Arts & Culture Festival, also known as FilAmFest, is coordinating with organizations to increase community awareness and public support through monetary and material donations.

Realizing that efforts are currently being conducted by several San Diego-based organizations to alleviate the peril of millions of Filipinos in the impacted areas, FilAmFest is serving as a community resource of information on the various ways that individuals and groups can help the Philippines in its most critical hour.

We understand that through the spirit of our fellow Filipinos as well as friends in the greater public, that there is a sincere desire to participate in the relief efforts.

A list of local organizations that are conducting relief efforts are:

Anakbayan SD
Council of Philippine American Organizations (COPAO)
GabNet San Diego
Gawad Kalinga San Diego

We welcome any organization to contact us (filamfest@gmail.com) so we may include you on our list. For our current community partners, we encourage them to interface with other like-minded entities so that relief efforts can be optimized.

In the wake of such a natural disaster, our hearts go out to the victims.
